Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this question.

What's the converion from micrometers (?) to microinches? The specification is 1.27 to 3.31 in metric.

1 microinch = 0.0254 micrometer
In microinch your specification would be roughly 50/130 (there are rounding errors!)

There are 25.4 mm/inch, so I think there are 0.0254 micrometer per microinch.

We measure plating thicknesses in microinches and microns. I usually convert by:

microinches * .0254 = microns

microns / .0254 = microinches

Also, 1 micron = roughly 40u" but you get a small rounding error. It's just convenient for quick checks sometimes without a calculator...
