I went online and registered - within a hour I received messages with attachments from email addresses I don't recognize. I'm not opening any of the attachments, but they look really suspicious. Did anyone else have this problem?

Did anyone else have this problem? No problem here, but I noted this box on the registration page, filled in by default:

Include my email address on the autotrain mailing list.

It's usually a good idea to uncheck those things, so I did that...

Hi All,

I registered (unchecked the email box) proceded to the courses and started to add a few courses but it keeps saying that I am not registered for any courses. I could not view anything as it kept taking me back to the course list page.

PS: I recieved my email confirmation and logged in

Greg BCurious situation.
After reading this thread, I went to the site, read as much background offered as I thought I needed, then signed up. I was careful to uncheck the email list box.

I logged in, chose courses on Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
The courses showed up as available at the top of the page. Clicking on a course put me right into it.

So far, I've only looked at one I'm pretty familiar with (Lean Principles), but it seems straightforward and on the money to me. It uses British English (whilst versus while and amongst versus among, for example), but otherwise seems as good as any hard copy texts I've seen.

When I have time (HAH!), I'll finish this Lean course and report my opinion.

Greg B - I can't understand where it led you astray. Please try again and report back to us.

Special note:
There is one curious aspect - the site offers courses in working with outmoded Word 97. Is this a European thing? Isn't word 2000 available throughout Europe? If the Word Processors are out-of-date, what is the status of the other courses?

Thanks Wes, :thanks:

I'll try when I get back to work tomorrow. Some of the courses looked relevant for me

I have had some problems in the past logging on etc.
Some times you need to refresh the pages.
The information is maybe at introductory level but I think that the courses that I have seen do present the subject matter in a clear manner.

I think the PC courses are just not updated.

It uses British English (whilst versus while and amongst versus among, for example), but otherwise seems as good as any hard copy texts I've seen.
the English for me is refreshing, is there an equivalent US site?
THis comes from the SMMT which seems to be more active than the AIAG in actually supporting the industry.

THis comes from the SMMT which seems to be more active than the AIAG in actually supporting the industry. My comment was just on the ONLY difference I noted.
In light of another thread (Seeking copy of TS 16949 (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=6976)) about high cost and limited availability of AIAG-prescribed documents (primary being the TS16949 implementation guide), it is really refreshing to see an industry group looking to enlighten, rather than gouge, outsiders.

Does anyone know of a reason why these free training courses could not be used to satisfy CPD hours for RAB Certification?
