Quality Digest serves an important market segment, especially since it does not limit its readership to folks who pay a hefty membership (or subscription fee.)

One thing that strikes me about this article is that it doesn't seem to "take sides" as so many of the articles in Quality Progress (the official ASQ monthly) seem to do.

The survey seems to add facts to "conventional wisdom" many of us espouse.

I laud QD for making it freely available via the internet.

I'd be interested in hearing some of your views about either

the article and its methodology
or

the facts the survey presents
Added in edit: I particularly appreciate the fact QD "dithers" the ads on the pages to prevent the commercial intrusion.
