I am fairly new to TS. I was wondering if someone has a list of all the manuals they would suggest buying if you were responsible for implementing a TS16949 system (what version if possible). And of course where is the best place to purchase them.

You need of course the standard and the interpretations also I recommend the following booklets from AIAG (http://www.aiag.org) :
SPC
APQP AND CONTROL PLANS
FMEA
MSA
PPAP

The PPAP booklet is being updated so it might be worth waiting to buy it.

Here's a link to the AIAG Bookstore 2004 (http://www.aiag.org/forms/aiagbook.pdf) pdf file (see page 10 for the Quality Stuff).

I would also suggest the IATF Guidance to ISO/TS16949:2002, available at the same site and BSR/ISO/ASQ QE19011-2002: Guidelines for Quality and/or Environmental Management Systems Auditing - E-Standard (http://qualitypress.asq.org/perl/catalog.cgi?item=T1901E) $50 for the pdf file.

Of course, read everything in the ISO/TS 16949 forum at the Cove!

I recently purchased "Automotive Internal Auditor Pocket Guide - process Audititng to ISO/TS16949:2002" by Roderick A. Munro. It's a pretty good little book to help with internal auditing. There are many questions to help with process auditing. Also, it gives basic info on COP's, Octopus and Turtle diagrams, etc. I bought it through the ASQ bookstore. www.qualitypress.asq.org
