· Conformity

There are lots of opinions on this. The writers of 9K used the root word "comply".

The writers of 14K used the root word "conform". "Conform" was used to differentiate meeting the requirements of the system standard from "complying" with regulatory requirements. "Conform" to ISO 14001 and "comply" with the law. See the difference.

"Compliance" has a harsher tone than "conformance". You can look at the different definitions in a dictionary, but within "systems" they are commonly used the same.

They are absolutely interchangeable in ISO terms

"Compliance of requirements" is mentioned several times in the 9000 trilogy.

Conformity is defined as"The fulfillment of a requirement"

Use them however you like.
