View Full Version : How to calibrate V-Blocks - I need a procedure

Recently, I have come across some tool and gage material at work. This is all new to me being that for the past 8 years I have been doing mostly optical alignment calibrations. I have an idea of how to calibrate V-Blocks but am not sure if I have everything I need and the procedure in doing these in-house. We do however, have a temp controlled lab for calibrations. Can someone please help?

I have a book back in my office that has a procedure on how to calibrate a V-block. I remember having that on an ASQ CMI exam, the only way I would even know I have it. I will be back in the office on Monday, so I will take a look and fax you what I can. I hope you can wait, but if not, perhaps someone out there can help you out sooner.

As I recall, you do the calibration using gage pins, dial indicator, and perhaps a cylindrical square on a surface plate. Best I can do off the top of my head.

Regards,

Kevin
