Try this book written by the two people who originally put together an article on "B.S.". no slight intended ;) for the Harvard Business Review.

"The Balanced Scorecard" Kaplan, Robert S., and Norton, David P., HBS Press, 1996, ISBN 0-87584-651-3.


Also try this set of articles in a compilation work of several writers, by those same two authors:

"The Harvard Business Review on Measuring Corporate Performance", 1998, Harvard Business School Press pp 123 - 211. I do not have the ISBN but the book does contain the following contact details:
