Hey everyone, in the ISO 9001:2000 standard they have the list of required records. Most of them I have no problem with. But there a few where I really don't know what they are asking for....and here they are:

"7.1 d) records needed to provide evidence that the realization processes and resulting product meet requirements"
- does this mean you need to show something that proves you actually planned the product?

"Validation of processes for production and serivce provision
7.5.2 d) requirements for records"
- no clue what this is asking...

"8.2.4 - Records shall indicate the persons authorizing release of product"
- if we inspect each chair we build, and put a "inspected" sticker on the bottom of it, would this work? If we signed the production order sheet?

These are my concerns. I go back to school next week, so I want to get this stuff out of the way so when I hand it over to my supervisor, he won't get too confused

Thanks for the help!

Here is the breif version, if you need more, let me know:

7.1.d

You need to show that what you are making meets the customers, or at least your specification.

7.5.2d

You need to show records that you validated that your process actually works. How did you determine that a given piece of equipment was capable of producing good product, for instance.

8.2.4

Yes, inspected with a record indicating who released would be fine.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, but if you could detail a bit more on the first two, that would be great!

Thanks.

"7.1 d) records needed to provide evidence that the realization processes and resulting product meet requirements"
- does this mean you need to show something that proves you actually planned the product? Final inspection and test

"Validation of processes for production and serivce provision
7.5.2 d) requirements for records"
- no clue what this is asking... Records of validation of processes not readily verifiable through inspection or that would be destroyed by performing inspection, i.e. welding, wave solder, etc

"8.2.4 - Records shall indicate the persons authorizing release of product"
- if we inspect each chair we build, and put a "inspected" sticker on the bottom of it, would this work? If we signed the production order sheet? Yes.

Thanks for the help! :2cents:If he hasn't been involved throughout, he'll probably fall on his face no matter how well you prep him.

He's been sort of invloved...he proof reads everything I write, so he knows whats going on in a sense. Plus I always kept him informed and up to date, and he provided me with a lot of quality information to complete everything. I'm more worried about him actually doing everthing that I've written!! :mg:
