The real point of the Central Limit Theorem?

We have pretty much given up on the using the central limit theorem to "prove" why SPC works, so, what does it really "prove"? One thought is that the larger the sample, the more the average masks the true distribution. This "sampling error" becomes more and more like the normal distribution. So, you could conclude that sampling error - like measurement error, e.g. - tends to be a normal distribution.

I have just returned from an ISO/TS 16949 audit in India.
This is not the first time I have been to India and as a vegetarian it is probably the best place for me to visit as I know that there is no problem with food. Usually my hosts are very surprised to find me a vegetarian and are pleased and curious as to my vegetarianism.

As I sit here working on the various customer complaints, inquiries, and general headache stuff that I deal with everyday I am being distracted by this stupid set of little birds chipping at my window a few feet away from my head.

The dumb little birds keep trying to fight their reflection in the window...how stupid does one have to be to bang their head against the preverbal wall before they realize that there is no other bird there and they will make no progress with their current...

Long Time...

Well, for those of you who were wondering, the project that I was working on ended abruptly due to cutbacks and changes in management. I do want to thank you all for the help and advice that you gave me. The last I heard, the new numbering system is being implemented, and all of the procedures that I worked on have been approved and are now being implemented as well. Thank you all, again, for the help you gave.
