Posted 20th August 2009 at 02:02 AM by Dr. L. Ramakrishnan

Posted 12th August 2009 at 01:01 AM by Dr. L. Ramakrishnan
Updated 12th August 2009 at 01:14 AM by Dr. L. Ramakrishnan (Additional information)
I am writing this post from the "epicentre" (as the TV anchor describes) of Swine Flu in India, Pune. Ever since the first death (a school girl) due to H1N1 virus was reported from Pune, there has been an increase in the number of cases tested positive for H1N1 virus as well as the number of deaths in Pune (the 11th death in India was announced last night from Pune). The TV anchors have a "lead news" and fill their time with reports on H1N1 from all over India; they appear...

Posted 4th June 2009 at 10:30 PM by Dr. L. Ramakrishnan
Updated 5th June 2009 at 04:22 AM by Dr. L. Ramakrishnan
Today is World Environment Day 2009. Last year the same time some of us have resolved to do something to improve (i.e. reduce) our environmental impact. Have we done that ? What is our new year resolution for 2009-2010 ? This is the time to reflect.

As for me, I have started working from home from February, 2009. The result: 80 % reduction in my petrol consumption. I have not calculated the reduction in my carbon footprint. My home energy bill has come down tremendously (now...
