Unit Conversion Add-in for Excel

What units do you need to convert?

If you know the factor you could easily change the units by using formulas in the required cells e.g. mm to inches - divide by 25.4

CONVERT is a built in function in Excel! IT is in 2007 version adn I belive in earlier versions as well. Here is the start of the Help message about it ....

CONVERT

Converts a number from one measurement system to another. For example, CONVERT can translate a table of distances in miles to a table of distances in kilometers.
Syntax
CONVERT(number,from_unit,to_unit)
Number is the value in from_units to convert.
From_unit is the units for number.
To_unit is the units for the result. CONVERT accepts the following text values (in quotation marks) for from_unit and to_unit.

Weight and mass
From_unit or to_unit
Gram
"g"
Slug
"sg"
Pound mass (avoirdupois) "lbm"
U (atomic mass unit) "u"
Ounce mass (avoirdupois) "ozm"

You can also use google ... just google "convert 2 inches to cm" and it will give the answer

A very neat easy way to do unit conversions is to just put them into Google, especially if you have a Google search bar:

http://www.google.com/search?q=10.90mm+in+inch

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=72f+in+c

You can do the same with math problems:

http://www.google.com/search?q=sin+32+degrees

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=125^(1/3)
(Taking the cube root is the same as raising something to the 1/3rd power)

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=12+5*3
Note that it will even handle the order of operations correctly.(So far in my experience but I usually parenthesis everything to be safe)
