Is Cpk ≥ 1.67 on All Key Parameters a must for an ISO TS 16949 certified company, even though there is no stipulated agreement with the Customer?

If is it between 1.33 and 1.67 in mass production is ok the same ? Is it needed a documented record attesting or PPAP approval by the customern according AIAG guidelines is enough?

The AIAG PPAP manual provides the default requirements for capability studies.

If you have concerns about the (capability) performance of your process, you must contact the authorized customer representative.

Look in the 4th edition PPAP book, page 7, "The level of initial process capability or performance shall be determined to be acceptable prior submission for all Special Characteristics designated by the customer or organization."

Make sure to read 2.2.11.5 and 2.2.11.6.

As per 2.2.11.1 of AIAG PPAP manual , the organization shall obtain customer concurrence on the index for estimating initial process capability prior to submission.

The question is: how should this happen? Is it required a written communication of the customer and so a formal response, or is it enough the proposal ( via email or through meeting) of the supplier without a formal "yes, we agree" of the customer representative?:bigwave:

Simple, but important concept in customer (requirements) communication: "Get it in Writing!!"
Then review, and communicate it to those who will be affected.
Even an email would suffice, and make it part of your PPAP files.

So , if you send a detailed email on this, but there is any response from their customer representative, do you assume that it is a positive response or not?
Is it required a record attesting clearly "yes" ?:bigwave:

No, the customer should respond to your request. Why should they not?

I do not know.
I assume the probably they applied the following criteria:" No response, no problem from customer perspective", so , it was ok for the supplier.

Could this situation acceptable in case of external audit on 7.2.2 clause??:bigwave:
