Re: The Plasma Thermal Destruction and Recovery (PDTR) Waste-to-Energy Technology

Dear Somasekhar,

This is one of the many methods available for treatment of waste that has some calorific value (organic chemical substance).

If my memory is right, Plasma destruction is the best method for difficult to incinerate wastes, such as pesticides, PVC etc. Normal incineration of such wastes is likely to emit dioxins, which are carcinogenic.

With kind regards,

Ramakrishnan

Re: The Plasma Thermal Destruction and Recovery (PDTR) Waste-to-Energy Technology

The PTDR system can handle any type of waste - including one with zero calorific value.

The major benefits of this system - besides destruction of difficult waste by reducing the load on the environment in a significant way are

1. Production of useful products that can be used or sold in the market

2. If the waste being fed into the system has sufficient carbon content (even in inorganic form), energy can be generated - thermal or electricity and thermal.
