For me, I do most of mine in EONS. There are several groups I am in but only blog in a few.

Some topics that are hot now or still:

Jobs, home, and economy
Mosque at Ground Zero
Would evidence of God mean the end of Christianity and Atheism?
The photo on Time Magazine and it relationship to sharia law
Mexico discussing legalizing drugs
Prop 8 overturned

I don't blog anywhere, but the topics you cite follow the 'hot' news items at any given time. I do read quite a few blogs but tend not to get into the conversation, so to speak. Some that I visit are political/news oriented, but most are 'hobby' / personal interest type sites/blogs.
