Question Can a Quality Policy include Health and Safety as an Objective?

Was wondering if a Quality policy could include Health and Safety as an objective?

Re: Quality Policy

Only if:
1. those are appropriate to the purpose of the organisation;
2. those somehow fulfill requirement of continiues improvement effectiveness of QMS;
3. those are basis for quality targets
(ISO9001:2008, 5.3 Quality Policy)

Honeslty i do not think those targets are suitable for above mentioned points, however if policy is not limited only to them, You can implement some Health & Safety elements as a secondary goals like for egazample "we will assure that our processes are secure for our employees health & safety"

Re: Quality Policy

IMO: Why not? I believe that they are important issues and should be adressed as part of the Quality System. Using the Quality Policy makes it visible and known throughout the organization. You probably already adress other things like cost of product and customer satisfaction here also.

Re: Can a Quality Policy include Health and Safety as an Objective?

Something along the lines of:

"We (company XYZ) will implement and maintain an efficient quality system that at all times fulfill relevant regulatory requirements, including Health and Safety requirements".

Re: Can a Quality Policy include Health and Safety as an Objective?

Sent to staff our revised Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
The new HR and Safety manager suggests adding a 'safety clause' into our Quality Objectives.
IMHO, the 2 are seperate. Any thoughts??
Thanks
