Just Wondering about career as Quality Manager
Hi Everyone.
I am not sure if this is where I should place this thread but I am sure someone will move it if necessary. I have been given the Quality Manager title with the company I work for and I am trying to figure out if this is something worth doing. With the help of the cove and several members I have started our process to becoming registered. I have the quality manual written, 7 procedures, several work instructions, preventative maintenance schedule and forms, training plans and supporting documents, internal audits both forms and schedules, and I have attended an internal audit training course through one of our customers; this is all the back ground information of course. This is a plant that just started manufacturing chrome work for commercial lines. They never take me serious, when I tell them something needs to change because ISO 9001 is what we are trying to meet.
I am wondering if this makes for a great career. I know that I am not getting the respect nor the credit I deserve for doing all of this for the company I work for. So I guess I am trying to get a feeling of rather or not I should tell my boss that I am not interested in doing the Quality Management and go back to being whatever position they try to put me in. Let me ask a little more personal question while I have your attention, what is the average salary per year for a quality manager?
Thank you for taking the time to help me out with my personal issues.
