After Virginia Tech shooting, what news you really want to know?

In my research methods class, I designed a survey to find how this act of violence (Virginia Tech) may have impacted American students' view of Asian students.

The results incidented that there was no impact to most American students to view Asian students; others had no idea.

So I want to collect another information, that is if you were the reader, what new opinion or content you really want to know?

Re: After Virginia Tech shooting, what news you really want to know?

Why? Was there something special about the shooter that should scare people? If his being of Asian extraction were an issue, then every American should be afraid of Japanese, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Chinese & Koreans because not too, too many years ago they were killing us by the thousands.

This type of activity serves no purpose other than to create a state of zenophobia, fear, and hate.........get a life and survey something worthwhile like the numbers of useless survey's out ther being performed by and for academia.

Oh yeah, lets look at Germans, Italians, Brit's, & Native Americans too.....................

I think this is really beyond the scope of what we want to discuss here.

Agreed. Such a survey would have to be extensively validated, and then, would be extremely difficult to accurately measure perceptions after the incident, as it would be borderline impossible to measure differences before the incident.

I certainly am not trying to dissuade anyone from Sociological research. I just don't think an open-ended discussion forum is the appropriate venue for research; and even as a controversial topic, well outside the realm of the Cove. Again, just my humble opinion.
