Question Can we get AS9100 certified?

Hello every one,

My organization is trying to sell equipment(Eg. CNC machines, CNC welding, CNC cutting etc) to the aerospace industry and in order to bid we need to have AS9100 certification. This equipment is not a product which goes in their final assembly(airplane, space shuttle etc.) but only used in manufacturing of parts. These machines will be sold under our brand names XYZ and we are not a distributor.

1. Do we need AS 9100? Does it makes sense?

2. Almost all of design, development and manufacturing of the euipment is outsourced and hence we do not have any product realization process here in house. In this case how can company XYZ get AS 9100 certified?

Thanks in advance
