Let Me Help You Timeline For Corrective Action for those in Executive Management Positions

The Corrective Action process (8D, CAPA, etc) is a very familiar subject for most depts involved in manufacturing, but not so much for those in executive management positions (Contracts, Sales, Human Resources, etc...). Granted that there should & will be training, but in the interest of responding to a CA request within the allotted time frame, a time line for Corrective Action has been requested.

I am looking for & have not found a simple format that executive mgmt can understand & use for a CA timline. Has anyone received a standard format from a Registrar or Customer to use? Thank you.

Have you checked the company's documented Corrective Action procedure for any answers? The process may already have a time line established.

Yes. The current CA procedure does not contain much information. It lists a database to document the corrective action effort but only Quality personnel have access to it. Additionally, this database is NOT user friendly even for Quality personnel.
The procedure & system obviously need to be updated to be more "user friendly" and provide guidance of what is expected.

I would stay within your procedure on CAPA. They are required to follow that also.

What I would do in my opinion, is to just guide them on responding, but don't tell them the answers for the CAPA. Let them think and evaluate.
