Please Help! Problem Calibrating a Krautkramer DMS 2 Ultrasonic Thickness Meter

Hello all, I have a Krautkramer DMS 2 Ultrasonic Thickness Meter. I was in the process of calibrating it before taking some readings and the "SEND" buttons you use to finalize calibration are not responding. Soon after I discovered that the two horizontal selector arrows located between the two "SEND" buttons were also not responding. All other buttons seem to be working fine. I made sure the unit was not locked. This happened once before and I sent it to GE for repair and they told me nothing was wrong with it and sent it back. It worked fine for a couple weeks and now the problem is occurring again. Any information on what the problem might be and how to fix it would be much appreciated, thank you.

Re: Problem Calibrating a Krautkramer DMS 2 Ultrasonic Thickness Meter

Hello there! And welcome!

I sure wished I could help you. I'm not familiar with this equipment.

Is it possible that whatever value you are trying to enter (when pressing the send button) is out of range/ not the correct value?

Other than that, could it be the keyboard is giving you problems/issues?

Re: Problem Calibrating a Krautkramer DMS 2 Ultrasonic Thickness Meter

I thought it might be an "out of range problem as well but that still wouldn't account for the horizontal sub-menu selection arrow buttons not working so I think there is either a problem with the circuitry or maybe the buttons locked up some how, or it could be something very simple and I am just not thinking of it... lol, either way I thought I would put out some feelers and see if anyone else has had this problem and if/how they fixed it, thank for the reply though
