Diagnostic Guidelines, Clause 7.3.3.1 - Need to some examples

Hi all
According to clause 7.3.3.1, one of the product design outputss is diagnostic guidelines. (where applicable). According to my undestanding from AITF guidelines to ISO/TS16949:2002, diagnostic guidelines are equipment used in automotive service centers to check the product (provided for OEM) or find/remove its problems.
If my understanding from this requirement is true , can someone give me some examples from such guidelines?
How should we audit "where applicable" requirements?

The diagnostic guidelines are essential to provide service interfacing of the vehicle system.

It is only applicable if the product has such a need and there is a requirement especially if there is a "7.5.1.8 Service agreement with customer "
