Update for EPA Energy Star and question
I did not see the last post regarding this, so thought I might update folks and maybe find out how many are involved with:
US EPA ENERGY STAR testing, and US DOE Lighting Facts
Update for ENERGY STAR:
The program continues to receive updates. Numerous accrediting bodies around the world are accepted, and I know there are many labs accredited for ENERGY STAR testing scopes. Scopes can include the lights like LED or compact flourescent (the little squiggly ones), room air conditioners, water coolers, and many other things. Some 60 programs in all.
Just curious how manyhere may be involved in ENERGY STAR testing and in what scopes. We can share issues, main one likely being just keeping up with output from EPA.
Lighting Facts:
Most folks have no idea what Lighting Facts is, but it is a DOE program for lighting. It is different than ENERGY STAR but the two together provide a good, comprehensive picture of what the item will do.
In future you may see reliability projections into the 10s of thousands of hours. There are reasons and protocols for those projections and feel free to ask here for explanantions.
AB assessors can also post in this, I do not need to be the only one!

Re: Update for Energy Star and question
I thought Energy Star was getting defunded.
But I heard the same about the Baldrige Award too, but I recently got an invite to apply for Examiner position.

Re: Update for Energy Star and question
If it is getting defunded, there is no evidence in accreditation. It continues to increase. Program Requirements continue to get updated too.
