Question TS 16949 Clause 7.5.1.8 - Special-Purpose Tools or Measurement Equipment

Hi all
Can someone mention some examples for any special-purpose tools or measurement equipment stated in clause 7.5.1.8 of ISO/TS? I would be grateful if someone explains about methods for verification of these special-purpose tools effectiveness.
Thanks all

Re: 7.5.1.8 special-purpose tools or measurement equipment

Good day morteza,

The element is simply asking for service processes to have been verified to be effective in the same way as the manufacturer has been evaluated for effectiveness. Where specialized tools or equipment is concerned, we could expect to include them in maintenance and/or metrology programs. The idea is to not have an uncontrolled set of satellite activities which are outside the QMS and its processes.

From a general standpoint, when there is an agreement with the customer for service assistance, you shall control the service as well personnel and related equipment. You should do with a system audit for instance when you audit the effectiveness of the service center if applicable to you.
