IMDS Classification for Marking Ink

As a newbie to IMDS who is trying to be a window person between mother in Japan (who seem intent on ignoring warnings and finding best fit for Jama sheets) and a high tier OEM who are looking to get things right, this thread alone has shed some light. Many thanks.

Jim,

You are right. Automotive is ahead of the rest of the world with substance data collection per ELV purposes. For REACh and other regulations, there is too much "not good" data in IMDS.

With the IMDS steering committee having grown to 30 or so members, it is going to be very difficult to overhaul the system. (also who is going to pay for it?)
