Question Creating an Organization Chart - AS9100

I understand the easiest and less complicated way of creating an organization chart is department based which displays the Roles and their reporting system rather than process based one.

Q. Do we have to define the responsibilities/job description of each individual/department as shown in the org chart within the Quality Manual ???

Thanks

Re: Creating an Organization Chart - AS9100

it is not necessary to define the responsibilities, as your quality manual is an overview of your business. you would define the responsibilities in SOP's etc.

if you include an organisational chart in the quality manual e.g. CEO -> COO - > FIN. Man - > etc. it should be sufficient.

hope this helps

Re: Creating an Organization Chart - AS9100

Good day Goldstarr,

I have usually seen process-specific responsibilities described by role versus person. Depending on the complexity of the document system I have seen them defined either within Appendixes of the Quality Manual or within procedures. However, I have never seen them defined on the organizational chart itself (too many words!) which does after all communicate that Position ABC is overall responsible for groups XYX.

Re: Creating an Organization Chart - AS9100

There are some organizational charts attached in the Quality Organizational Chart Benchmarking - See attachment thread.

I did a search in the Post Attachments List - see the green button in the header - using key word "responsibilities" and came up with this selection.
