No one has access to the Quality Manual or Tier II Docs, heck most aren't aware that they exist (they aren't current anyway - I'm working on fixing that). The CB doesn't talk to anyone but the QA Manager (they picked the company because of their rep as being "easy"). No one does internal auditing but the QA Manager. No one knows if changes they make to the way they do things has any potential impact either requirement wise or on procedures.

No one knows what the goals are (OTD, COQ etc) - even me. And only a few are even aware that there is a Quality Policy.

I just started here not too long ago and it is driving me nuts that no one has anything to do with ISO or the Quality Culture but the QA Manager and me.

I came from a company where people were exposed to (and had access to) the Tier II docs and QM within their first 90 days, were expected to know what the Quality Policy was, and knew what the goals were for different metrics (and how they affected same).

Bogie, I hear you loud and clear. It doesn't help that we all have a Notified Body that apparently enables this behavior. What's the point?

In practical i fully agree with what "QuaproQuo".

There are Manuals / Procedures - but in many cases....practically no one read it. (May be we can have another pole - what is the usage / reference of Quality manual---procedures)

With this issue, the companies are doing well and retain their certificate ,,,,,,,

QA/QC Managers keep update the procedure and keep in his portal or in file cabinet...and keep circulate and arrange training program.....on this....

That could be the reason the ISO 9001 reduced the document requirements to only 6 Mandatory procedures!

I think thats because of the way they are written which inlfuences their usfullness to staff and because not enough people focus on being plan driven as apposed to being event or adhoc driven.

When someone asks me somehting I refer them to the procedure or manual and if the answer is not there I check to see if its covered in one of those documents and if its not, depending on the imprtance of it I might seek to have it included.
