It seems i cannot write any standard without thinking EN: Please
read ISO 15223-1 for the rest of the world ; in Europe EN ISO 15223-1 to be exact.
The EN ISO 15223-1:2012 says itself (!?!) that it will replace EN 980:2008.
Of course CENELEC as publisher (read printer/seller) has no authority in that, because it is the OJ publication of Harmonised Standards that is authoritive. So ignore this statement (within Europe) and look at the published list of Harmonised Standards for the MDD.
The current publication is found here <..elsmar forum removed link> and mentions EN 980:2008. But it is easy to find using our cetest.nl site.
There are a few differences between EN 980 and EN 15223-1:2012 and the previous EN 15223-1:
Every symbol (YES!) has been (very) slightly modified (i know, as i have them all redrawn for our 2012 font/bitmap version), but some of the EN 980 symbols that were missing before have been introduced in the 15223-1:2012.
There are more symbols in the new standard as before.
Unfortunately i cannot list them here without breaching the standard copyright.
And as i said before: the OJ publication will probably soon list the EN ISO 15223-1:2012 version.
