Re: Type 1 MSA

Mr Automoto
Can you please tell us the page # of MSA fourth manual which depicts formula given in your sheet. You have given reference of 4th manual.

Re: Type 1 MSA

You will found formulas for calculating in ANFIA (Associazione Nazionale Fra Industrie Automobilistiche) MSA Manual or in MINTAB.
However, it is strange that this method is not included in AIAG Manual. In my opinion it is useful tool to asses inherent variation of the gage. Type 1 study is first step in a complete MSA. Also a lot of customers require it….

Re: Type 1 MSA

Cgk = K/200* Tolerance – [ Xg (Bar) – Xm ]
L * s

where K is a percentage of the tolerance (20 is typical),

X is the mean of all measurements,
s is the standard deviation of the measurements,
L is the number of standard deviations you want to represent half the process spread (3 is typical) .

I need to know :How to use Shainin ISOPlot(sm) Type I gauge test is Minitab Release 16 ?

Hello,

I prepare excel file for conducting Type 1 MSA analysis.

Enjoy....

These formulas are also used in VDA 5.2 ("Prüfprozesseignung", actually only available in German but I suppose they will translate the 2nd edition eventually).

I need to know :How to use Shainin ISOPlot(sm) Type I gauge test is Minitab Release 16 ?

AFAIK Shainins Isoplot couldn't be made directly from the menus in Minitab R16, but maybe the (more common) method of a type I study (incl. a plot and bias test) is an alternative?

Stat > Quality Tools > Gage Study > Type 1 Gage Study

Type 1:
1 part with known reference value
take 25-50 repeated measurements
calculate bias and capability of measurement Cg, Cgk (g: gage)

Type 2:
Gage R&R, MSA crossed
5-10 parts, 2-3 operators, 2-3 repeated measurements for each part & operator combination
assign variation to part (part variation, PV), operator (appraiser variation, AV) and equipment (equipment variation, EV) to total variation, calculate GRR% based on the GRR= SQRT(EV²+AV²) and a reference value (6*study variation, 6*process variation or tolerance width):
GRR% = GRR / (reference value)

Hope this helps :bigwave:

What does it mean at blue alphabet ? ( 150.2896 ,30.76335 ) after i used menu :
Calc > Matrices > Eigen Analysis
Calculates eigenvalues (also called characteristic values or latent roots) and eigenvectors for a symmetric matrix.
