Definition Patient - Definition in IEC 60601-1

Hello ALL,

As you know, the definition of "patient" in IEC 60601-1 includes animal. I am wondering if devices used in veterinary lab also fall within the scope of MDD 93/42/eec.

Please share your insight.

You mean, regulations in the EU? Nope, although you may need to follow other applicable directives, if any.
