How to prepare training need assessment for manufacturing industries

i work as industry - university linkage coordinator and i am trying to find training needs of industries. Can someone pls tell me how to prepare training need assessment for manufacturing industries.

I've worked with ISO 9001 in manufacturing for years. When we look at training needs, I've always gone to the supervisor and asked for a listing of what employees are expected to know to be competent at their job. This is usually different for each job title and department, meaning people with the same job title but working in different departments would have different requirements. If you're looking for a generic list, imho, it will not be very useful.
