Dear friends

What topics would you include in ?

In this moment we do not have a structured approach of our departmental meetings. I am thinking for instace: KPI, Customer satisfaction(internal external..) ??!
Usually we have weekly meetings. Any suggestion from your experience?
Thank you very much

A few questions...

  1. Is there a reason that you posted this question in the ISO/TS 16949 forum?
  2. What is the purpose behind these meetings? If there is no reason to have it...then don't have it.
  3. Is a meeting the most effective way to communicate the information? Will an email suffice instead?
  4. Is this a form of management review? If so, the standard provides the topics for the agenda.

Good topics you are suggesting. And....
There are some requirements in the ISO TS 16949 standard on which communication (and/or awareness) is required :
5.1.a - 5.5.2 c - 6.2.2.d - 6.2.2.4 - 7.2.2 - 7.5.1.7
More things that can be covered :

Safety items (Accidents and would-be accidents)
Policy (must be understood - see 5.3.d)
Problems in the department
Changes in the department, infrastructure, personnel, ....

Not all of these topics need to be discussed every week of course

The list is not intended to be complete

luciano,

If your organization serves its customers and achieves its goals by using and improving it process-based organizational management system, then departments need consider just one thing:

1. How well is our department or function serving the processes that run through our department?

Departmental objectives may compete with process objectives. Indeed, functions pushing to achieve their departmental objectives may neglect or cripple the organization's processes.

If departments are to serve a useful purpose in a process-based organization, perhaps it is to develop the competence and capability of its resources to better serve the organization's processes starting with the core process.

How often do your cross-functional process teams meet to remove kinks from their processes? Are the budgets process-based or department-based? If the latter, will the departments vote to invest in improving the performance of process teams?

luciano,

A second thing for your departments to consider may be:

2. What competencies and innovations should we be developing to fulfill our organization's strategic plan?
