What is the differece between Internal audit and internal quality audit
Welcome into the cove
It is Internal audit.
All audits must be of good quality. So perhaps it was earlier called as Internal quality audit.

What is the difference between Internal audit and internal quality audit

These words are used by many people to mean different things. Often audit is financial in nature, but a quality audit can be product, process and/or quality system.

In some organization , in particular multinational company, there is a difference.
You can also see this in job research for this positions, looking at the the job description.
Audit is usually linked to specific financial issues, controls and compliance to some local regulation ( for example SOX, audit on general ledgers etc)
Quality audit are linked with quality matters and compliance to ISO standards .

Competences of thie auditors should be different:bigwave:

This is in the ISO 9001-General Questions and Discussions.
So I guess the OP is asking about any difference within this scope. There isn't any difference.
Audits are many., Accounts, Safety, Energy, and so on.
Did the ISO of the 1994 version call it Internal quality audit (IQA) ... ???

Normally internal audit will be refer to the system (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18000, ISO 14001 etc). Comparing the Work Instructions/SOP or the requirements of each system to your Management system. A short explenation are you doing what you say you are doing.

Quality Audit, you will look at the controlling of the quality of the product/service. This is usually done from the start of the process (Receiving of raw materials) upto the final product.

"Internal audit" (many types, as mentioned) is general name, with "Internal quality audit" just being one of those types.

oQuality Audit-Definition: “A quality audit is a systematic, periodic, independent and documented examination and verification of the conformity and effectiveness of a quality standard.”
ooThis definition is based on the ISO 9000 standard for quality management systems.
oIt is referring to auditing of quality management systems like ISO, IFS, Global Gap, BRC and the like. Basically it deals with certification audits.

Internal Audit definition based on the IIA standards (CIA):
“Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organization's operations. It helps an organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.”

I am late but hope that this helps. cheers
