ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report) vs. PSW (Part Sample Warrant)

ISIR vs PSW

I have read articals (can't remember which publications, but have seen it twice) when refering to Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) it was followed by (Now PSW). PSW is Product Sample Warrant, but I fail to find documentation supporting the change from ISIR to PSW.

We submit numerous ISIR's to our automotive customers. As we implement TS, do we now refer to them as PSW's?

Imho

IMHO

ISIR is the layout inspection report submitted with the PSW (Part Submission Warrant).

The PSW will reference the ISIR typically only if something is not to specification.

PSW was described as "Product Sample Warrant."
It made it sound as if Initial Sample Reports were being revised to Product Sample Warrants by writing it in this manner "ISIR (Now PSW)."
- Not the case, huh?

Scott:

Look at the PPAP Manual Page 54 at the sample PSW.

In the beginning, when Ford developed their Q!/Q100/Q101 program they referred to their approval process as "ISIR" With the advent of QS9000 the term PPAP was developed. The Ford ISIR contained the same/similar items as the PPAP, including a PSW.
As Howard states, Germany uses the term ISIR; as do most of the JApanese automakers.
TS2 does not use an acrynom. It simply states "conform to a product and manufacturing process approval procedure recognized by the custmer" A rose by any other name . . .
