OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) on Pharma Packaging Lines

I am interested to hear about high levels of performance around Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and maintenance around pharma packaging lines. Does anyone have this type of experience?

I am attaching 4 white papers on this topic:
  1. An Introduction to OEE
  2. Issues related to manually calculating OEE
  3. Performance Management Facts & Myths
  4. Tests need to be carried out on non-intrusive Performance Management Tools

It's really very helpful post. I think pharmaceutical packing course is very helpful for people who have direct involvement in packaging operations within the pharmaceutical industry.

Well it is an old thread, but how did it go? I guess that for manual packaging, people are replace with "Equipment" in OEE.

The OEE(overall equipment effectiveness) is an effective tool that is often used within the process of lean manufacturing as a ?key performance indicator? and allows success to be measured by comparing manufacturing units in different industries.

Wow.
First of all I am excited that this forum is still alive.
Secondly. OEE. Availability x performance x Quality.
The formula is simple and there are several calculator that can be used.

The Key elements is to determine the machines run rate Drops per minute or bottles per minute. The rest is simple mathematics.
The most difficult task is to categorise the reason why you did not meet the output target set out.
Ah well not to worry.
Good luck cause I certainly need it.
I hope that the spreadsheet attached will give an idea.

Kind regards:cool:
