Dear Covers,

At present we are calibrating our instruments at external agencies.

Now we wanted to set up the in-house calibration laboratory.

I am interested to know about :

What are the basic infrastructures that should be taken care (including the compliance part during the audits) for setting up the small in-house calibration laboratory which would be helpful to calibrate the in-house equipments (like temperature sensors, transmitters, pressure gauges etc.)

Raghu, might I direct you to this thread:

In it, Coury has provided a 17025 that will provide a great checklist for you. That includes procedural, technical, and environmental conditions for performing calibrations in-house.

In general, be sure to count all the costs involved. There is a lot that goes into performing calibrations, and providing an acceptable environment.:)

You might also check www.ncsli.org and find the Recommended Practices (RPs). One of them is specific to how to set up a laboratory.
