There has been a bit of a discussion on whether CMMs are frequently used for measuring circular or total runout on cylindrical features.
Circular or total runout have, in the past, been shown for small cylindrical products where one would place them in a chuck or divider head and then use a dial (digital) indicator on a base to obtain a FIM or TIR.
What does your company do on circular and total runouts? How does it confirm the requirements?
