ISO 9001 Work Instruction Structure

Currently we use a word templete for all departmental work instructions. Improvement ideas have been discussed to implement flows instead of written instructions. Does anyone have a example templetes that could be bench marked. Also, what kind of structure is being used for numbering of work instructions. Examples of how different departments within a company (example: maintenance and safety have alot of work instructions).
