Document control is basically the same irrespective of what industry you are in. You tend to have more drawings, instructions and related amendments for the construction industry but the industry itself have methods to control them long before ISO standards exist.
You can use the samples of document control procedures in our post attachments list for reference or as a template but before that, know and understand how your current control works, identify any gaps and take necessary action.
By the way, weekends and 'night hours' in US are slow hours with very few participants - so be patient!
