Online resource for USA cities historical weather observations

Hi All,

I couldn't find an "appropriate" forum to post it, so I'm posting here and perhaps one of the moderators will transfer to the right spot.

Probably an easy one for the USA guys; however, I spent quite a lot of time online and though I found lots of sites and information, I couldn't spot a single resource to provide what I'm looking for, in an easily accessible way.

I'm looking for historical max. and min. temperatures and RH (absolute extremes, not means), for major cities in the USA. Specifically, I'm looking for data from LA, NYC, Boston and Houston areas, preferably from stations near incoming (via air) customs processing facilities. Preferably the raw data would cover the last 50 years or so, the more the better.

As a reference, in Australia we have something like that: http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/tables/cw_066062_All.shtml

:thanks:

Ronen.

I have sometimes needed this kind of information, often hourly data for the area we are located. I used to use USAtoday, but last time could not find it on theie site. US Government data should be available, but in the past when I had looked, the way of obtaining it was difficult to understand
I used wunderground.com

http://www.wunderground.com//history
Just use the default date when you first get to the page
Then use the "custom" tab. It can provide comma delimited data
Looks like the numbers go back to 1944
Unfortunately the custom option seems to give only about one year at a time
