Please Help! What is a Ford Single Scale?

Hello All
My boss visited a new customer today. She came back and said their quality manager mentioned something called the "Ford Single Scale". She didn't know what this is, and asked me if I'd ever heard of it. I haven't.

Does anyone know???

(I may have heard of it under a different title. I realize all companies have their own names for things)

thanks
daj

I've never heard of it, but your boss should be tied to the whippin' post (metaphorically, of course ) for not asking the person who used the term. That's still an option.
