Your friend needs to ask the auditor what he expected to see. Because it's such an ambiguous requirement (I don't know how it's possible find an NC against it) anything anyone advises could be wrong.
Hi Jim,
I remember to have already provided a response of mine for the same question in another thread but I am not able to find it to insert the link. It was very recent discussion, probably in June.
However, as review of records, I have interpreted that the organization could assess if the capability is still ok, or new equipment /gauge need to be acquired if the requirement for measurement have been change, or if the standards used have been changed in the meantime, if new training for personnel are need and stuff like that.
What about?

You know, talk with the auditor is difficult. I don't invent such strange NCs. I think auditor opinion was: "I can't see evidence of review of the related records so for me it's NC"

Agree with you. In addition to my previous post, I think that in the records could also be included KPI's of the lab,non conformance due to bad calibration and so on, because the accreditation or to follow ISO 17025 is an advice for the organization and this standards has as one of the requirements the management review of the lab as well.
