Definition Policy, Procedure and Work Instruction - Definitions

OK - I did some basic searches on here for some basic definitions of some words or key phrases and really did not find what I am looking for. So...since I know I will get 100 replies to this question...

Define the following:

1. Policy
2. Procedure
3. Work Instruction

Now I ask this to see the variety of answers not because I don't know...:bonk:

You can define these terms as you see fit. If the definitions make sense to you and your organization, it's fine.

From the people who wrote the ISO 9000 series:

"Policy" used to be defined in ISO/TC 176/SC 2/N 526R. They have removed it from the latest version of that document (ISO/TC 176/SC 2/N 526R2).

"Procedure" is defined in ISO 9000:2005 (and I recall seeing it posted on the Cove).

"Work Instructions" (sic) is defined in ISO 10013:2001.
