Black Belt vs Green Belt projects

Colleagues,
I am looking for some good words on the differences between Black Belt and Green Belt projects. Anyone care to take a stab at it?

The primary difference is in the scope of the project and the level of knowledge required. For example, a GB would not normally be expected to design and analyze a DOE while they might be expected to help conduct one.

In some cases, a black belt project MAY consist of multiple green belt projects supporting a larger project.

Geoff,

It's usually in the scale of the project. Often a GB project will be a "local" project contained within one department, whilst a BB project will be a cross departments project. That said, it will depend from organisation to organisation, and some will use project value as a differentiator.

I think it also pertinent to remember that in some organisations, the only difference between GB and BB is that BB is a full-time role, whilst GB is part-time. This in itself may well place limitations on the type of project undertaken.

Bottom line...it depends:D

GB and BB projects can be differentiated on the basis of the scope of the project and financial savings targeted.
