My company is very involved in Automotive components and several of our customers have required us to establish a QMS. We were originally Certified to QS9000 and Ultimately upgraded our Certification to ISO9001:2000 ISO/TS16949.
Our management is now considering getting onto the Aerospace supply chain and has asked us (The QMS committee) what exactly it would take to make us a favorable consideration for this new business.
So I guess I have just a few questions:
1. After having read a lot of information I'm confused with a 50/50 view so tell me is AS9100 required to compete as an Aerospace supplier if not dealing tier 1 or 2?
2. How much more involved is acquiring and maintaining AS9100 compared to ISO9001:2000 TS16949?
3. Can certification actually be conjoined with our ISO registration as all three elements ISO / TS16949 / and AS9100?
4. And finally has anyone actually completed this endeavor? And if so what advise or assistance could you offer to simplify this process for us?
Hoping for Good Answers,
