CE Mark - Technical File Help - Machinery Directive 98/37/ec

I am in the process of self certifying our products with the CE Mark (Directive 98/37/EC). Instead of wading through the conflicting advice all over the web regarding the technical file, it would be entirely more helpful if I can see a completed one.
Does anyone have a completed technical file or a technical file template to send me? This would save me a lot of time and headache reading every companies FAQ and how they can help me (for a small fee of course).

I would greatly appreciate anyone's advice regarding the technical file process. Someone's personal experience from a small business owner's perspective will be much more helpful to me than all these companies trying to convince me why I need to pay them for their advice.
