Please Help! AS9100 - FAA - Corporate - Authority to access company CARs and PARs?

I understand that the FAA is going AS9100.
I was advised this morning that our FSDO has already appointed an AS9100 manager.
My question:
1. Will the FAA have the authority to access company CARs and PARs?
One of our "Processes" has a box with a note stating "Regulators and customers have rights of access to QMS Documents related to their authority".
2. Does this include PARs/CARs?

Now, if this the case with the FAA, it would appear that subject review authority will defeat the purpose of the CAR/PAR propgram.

Thanks,

AMn

According to AS9100 they already have access to QMS documentation. 4.2.1 says:
Quote:
Customer and/or regulatory authorities representatives shall have access to quality management system documentation.
In the records clause (4.2.4) it says:
Quote:
Records shall be available for review by customers and regulatory authorities in accordance with contract or regulatory requirements.

Like sending a copy of your proposed QM revision to the FAA for "approval".

The FAA does not state "approved". The FAA reviews data, your QM, evaluates, and states you meet the FARs

Default FAA access to QMS data

I appreciate the responses.
The responses breed an additional question:
"Does the FAA have the right to take action against a company for actions/
deficiencies noted/documented in a Corrective Action/Preventive Action Request?
Thanks,
AM

It is my understanding that if you uncover something regarding your quality system, they will not take action against the company.

If you discover that there is a reportable issue, you are required to notify them. If there is an issue you uncover that is reportable, and you do not then they can take action. It is stated in various parts throughout the regulations. If you are a repair station, then you should be familiar with 14cfr145.63. If you are a parts manufacturer then you should look at 14cfr21.3.
