Data for reliability and measurability has not been established and included
Hi..!
I am working in Production Engineering Department of an auto ancillary. Our major customers are tier 1 suppliers of 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler.
As a part of manufacturing design out put, out auditor has marked ,"here is no evidence of manufacturing process design ouput comprehensively capturing some of the mandatory requirements. For example, refer to manufacturing design output for Part no 7041618 (Munjal Auto). The data for reliability and measurability has not been established and included at the manufacturing design output stage.
Also, the control plan for Part no C-3782203x/10, neither include nor reference the processes and process parameters involved in the manufacture of the part. "
 ..I dont understand anything abt this..
can anyone explain this to me..

First, did you discuss this with your auditor? Although they cannot consult they can provide more information then just stating you didn't meet a requirement.
The next step is to go back and review the design outputs. Did they contain reliability and measurable data. If so, then you need to incorporate the process parameters into the PFMEA and control plan to address the design outputs. You should address the "reliability" of the process to produce a part that meets the design requirements. You should address the "measurability"
of the process and the part to provide data for continual monitoring.

The very first step is to determine if your process has the required inputs, including those from the customer. Then, monitor the process for reliability and repeatability by taking some form of measurements,i.e., time, temperature, speeds, feeds, material weight, etc.This data can be put into a format, such as SPC, and then analysed. From these results conclusioons can be drawn as to corrective/preventive action.
Your customer may have reliability considrations for the part,i.e., life cycle. Your process should address this and all other customer requirements.
Your process has reliability considerations also, in the form of capability and repeatability.
