Posting and Editing - Three Edit Modes are Available
There are 3 different levels of 'editor' available when you Start a New Thread, Post a Reply, or when you Edit a Post you have already made.
First go to your UserCP (User Control Panel)
On the left side you will see Edit Options
When you click this link, if you SCROLL DOWN, almost to the bottom, you will see this:
This is where you set the Editor you want to use. In this case, I have my option set to "Standard Editor - Extra Formatting Controls". I set mine to the Standard Editor because I do a lot of editing and need to be able to see all the formatting codes.
Options are:
Basic Editor - A simple text box
Just what it says. Allows you to see all Formatting Codes.
Standard Editor - Extra Formatting Controls
Has all the 'bells and whistles, but Allows you to see all Formatting Codes.
Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Controls
Has all the 'bells and whistles, but you CAN NOT see the Formatting Codes.
For more information on Editing and Posting, see the FAQ.
For more information on Formatting Codes, see this vB Code List .
NOTE: Messages can be edited for about a week. After that, if you want to edit an old post, please contact me. This limitation is because someone, a couple of years ago, came in and deleted all the messages they posted and all the attachments they posted. Since that person had downloaded a lot of attachments, and deleting the posts left many 'confusing' threads, I decided to make sure it did not happen again.

vBulletin 3.5 Message Editor Option
In vBulletin 3, in the Edit Post box there is now a 'Quick Switch' editor mode:

I do not seem able to push any buttons.
I am in Firefox 1.07 but I just tried in IE and the buttons work there
Any one else with this problem?

When you are reading a thread, to activate the Quick Reply box you have to click on the symbol in an existing post. That 'links' the two with your reply as a follow up (remember the old threaded view?) and activates the Quick Reply box.

Is that happening just in the edit post box?

In Firefox nothing works.
If I press a button, formatting and smilies, there is no response
I am in standard editing extra controls.
I will now log in , in IE
