The Hat Need to know how to calibrate inch and metric gage blocks correctly.

Need to perform a very accurate calibration on gage blocks. Inches and Metric. Is there anybody out there who knows how to do it correctly.

In order to keep your uncertainty somewhere in a working range, you will need a specialized comparator (gage block comparator), or a helium-neon laser. Neither are cheap.

If you are in the USA, the standards that apply are ANSI/ASME B89.1.2M and ANSI/ASME B89.1.9M. The older standard is GGG-G-15C, which is available for FREE at ASSIST online http://astimage.daps.dla.mil/quicksearch/ . Type "15" in the Document Number field, then scroll to the document.
