Question Do we need to take our own statistical tables for CQE Exam?

Do we need to take our own statistical tables for CQE Exam. Where could I get one if it is required.

Is Juran's Quality Control Handbook allowed for exam as reference

Hi, and welcome to the Cove!!!

The answers: Yes and yes.

Any good stats textbook should have the charts you need, but be sure to familiarize yourself with what you are going to use well before the exam, and use the same charts you study with for the test itself.

I would not consider going into the exam without Juran's book. If I could only take one, that would be it.

One thing that I found useful for that text, and others, is those small "sticky" tabs that are made by 3M (Post-Its). They make a version of that product for just this purpose. As you study you can use them to index sections that you think you will want to find quickly during the exam. Instead of wasting time with the index you can just look at what you have written on the tabs and flip right to what you need.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hi,

If this is an IQA Diploma Exam the only one allowed is Murdoch and Barnes Statistical Tables, Fourth Edition (found this in exam rules on student web site. I bought mine from Amazon

I'm trying to work out how to use tables 35 - Derivation of Single Sampling Plans and 36 Construction of OC Curves for single sampling plans... Any help on this appreciated.

Paul

Hi Paul,

This thread is about ASQ Exam.
Please visit http://www.variation.com/
This site provides a lot of information about Sampling Plans. I started getting better clarity with sampling plans after reviewing the articles from this site. There are also Sampling Subject matter experts in Cove. If you cross reference your table to Mil Standard or ANSI page #, they can provide more insight. Most of us have either Mil Std or ANSI std.

Regards,
Govind.
